Flour time

Thursday, April 16, 2009
The title itself suggests its mess time. But trust me, your kid will love it. All you need is newspaper or Disney's Floor Mat, some corn flour and a flour sifter like the one to the right. That's it. And also it's a good time for some portraits!

Finger, Toes, Hair & Nose

My kid loves this game. At first he wasn't enjoying it, but as I was doing it, he started imitating me. Now when I say put your finger in the air, he's already doing it.
Its very simple singing game. I'm sure it will keep your baby on his toes, while he tries to find his nose! Thanks to fisher price for emailing me this game!

What to do:
Make your baby seat on the floor or in his infant seat, and sit in front of him.
Sing the song, and move your baby's finger to the appropriate body parts.

Put Your Finger in the Air
Put your finger in the air, in the air,
Put your finger in the air, in the air,
Put your finger in the air, then put it in your hair,
Put your finger in your hair, in your hair.
Put your finger on your nose, on your nose,
Put your finger on your nose, on your nose,
Put your finger on your nose, then put it on your toes,Put your finger on your toes, on your toes.
(Repeat with arm/leg, cheeks/chin, lip/hips, neck/back, then)
Put your finger on your finger, on your finger,
Put your finger on your finger, on your finger,
Put your finger on your finger, and then in your lap,
At the end of the song, give a clap!

I once forgot to change his diaper in the night and when I got up in the morning, it was still dry. The caterpillar flex diapers does what it says on the box! The best diapers, my 10 month old likes it and I'm happy!

Pros: Non-Greasy, Soothes Skin, Lightweight, Smells Great

Best Uses: Sensitive Skin, Uneven Skin Tone, Daily Use

Skin Type: Dry

Age: 25-34

My son's skin is very sensitive and dry. These washcloth works great, they are the softest washclothes than the regular ones. The best part is that it has body wash in it and I don't have to worry about carrying a seperate body wash when I travel and oh! love the smell.

His first steps with support

The excitement, the happiness you get when watching your little angel reach those milestones, from the first cooing to walking, ah! its such a wonderful experience. That sheer happiness you see in the eyes of new parents, words alone are not enough to describe it.

I'm thinking for that perfect word that says it all and end this post. Perhaps, I should post a picture as a picture speaks thousand words. One thing I can say though.. its the best treat for us as parents. Oh and one more feather to add to my worry cap.. secure all the cupboards with locks or fill them with his toys! and keep two more eyes behind my head.

Me Time

Wednesday, February 18, 2009
Having a baby changes everything. It's fun to be around them and you never know how time passes by so fast! and of course who keeps you on your toes all the time. Its like a mini workout. I'm no different. Oh well not really. Luckily, my kid hasn't started crawling and for me it was a big relief until he started walking around the house in that walker of his. Another addition to me now is my back hurts. He wants me to hold his hands and make him walk. I enjoy it, but grr.. my back!!

Earlier I used to have some time to do the chores, get a massage etc., but now? despite my husband doing the dishes, laundry and cooking, the 'me time' is totally gone! The last week was so damn hectic, just be behind him and keep aside all my work. I even lost interest in photography. just can't believe. There's so much to worry about.. me not doing that n this and cribbing about it and blogging about it..

but when I see that big smile on his face when he sees me... its priceless! especially when he tilts his head and looks at me and oh that smile.. its infectious! He definitely knows how to put that smile back on my face. He reminds me that smiling/laughing is the best medicine and I forget everything..all the cribbing and nagging.. its all gone! and I don't worry about the "me time" anymore.. at least for that few minutes, that hour or that day!

online shopping

Tuesday, February 17, 2009
I never thought that I would sit hours and hours with my laptop and shop online, especially for a person like me who likes to get out of the house and shop in the malls. But now, be it clothes or food or furniture or anything for that matter, I do it online. It all started 2 months before my due date. I didn't want to go around shop to shop and that's when I got addicted to this online shopping. Since then, I buy all his food, clothes, games everything online. For games and furniture I buy at Amazon.com and for food, diapers, clothing etc, I shop at Diapers.com . But now I'm tired to shopping online at diapers.com. Don't get me wrong, I love that website, you get our package next day.. its very convenient, but the problem is my kid tried all of the foods that are displayed on their web and he wants new variety. Now I don't know any other website except for diapers.com!

His first sign

Thursday, January 29, 2009

Yay! After so many months of teaching him sign language, he finally, at the age of 9 months, gave his first sign ' Milk'. I was so excited and asked him to sign again, but boy he wouldn't. So I gave him his sippy cup and again for his next meal, I was waiting eagerly to see if he really knew how to sign and this time he did. Oh! It was such a delight to see him sign his first sign.

The baby sign language has been so helpful. Its a rescue for parents to understand what the baby wants before they start to speak, especially when their only medium of communication is through crying. Once they start to master those signs, there is less frustration and also it improves language development. So for all those new parents out there, invest some time in teaching your baby sign language. Trust me, its fun for both the parents and the baby.

First post

Friday, January 23, 2009
Its so amazing to be a mother. Its such a thrilling experiece I must say and ofcourse the perks that come with it. I am a first time mom with a 9 month old baby who keeps me on my toes all the time. Even though I don't work, this is more work than the regular 9-5 job. I get time only when he sleeps. But not all days are the same eh! I think this is the same story with every first time mom.

I hope the experiences that I share here help the other first time moms and ofcourse the moms who have been through and know it all, please share your experiences/moments here.
